Mr. P. a 22 years old lad, while graduating went to a brothel first time along with his two classmates some time in January 1998. After some days of sexual act with the prostitute, he developed Condylomata accuminata (A type of genital warts) on his Glans Penis and Prepuce. The condylomatous growth was like spicules (long thorns) of flesh all over the penis. Neither Syphilitic chancre (sore) nor pus discharged after the said act. The patient consulted Allopathic doctor at Sirsa, Rajasthan, who must have either advised for the blood exam first, then described 4 injections of Penicillin (Penidura) 5 Lac along with some tablets or in a reverse way. He was found HIV positive by ELISA test. VDRL was found negative. Mr. P. was referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh which is Sero Surveillance centre of the North West States of India for the confirmation through Western Blot test. The patient consulted doctors at Skin & STD Clinic at PGIMER who prescribed Podophylline as an external application, after finding ELISA-I, ELISA-II and Rapid positive on 18.02.1998. CD4 count was within normal limit (1341) as on 25.05.1998. But the patient was not given the report of Western blot, rather never given in future too.
While in PGIMER, the patient was advised by someone known to me for Homoeopathic help in this regard. Mr. P. along with his brother-in-law contacted me in early February, 1998. He showed me various reports and OPD card of PGIMER Chandigarh. After going through the history and presenting complaints (symptoms), Mr. P. was given Thuja, Nitric acid and Sulphur in high potency (10M) doses from time to time. As a result, I observed Condylomatous growth started regressing after some months of taking treatment. When it was receded to 50%, I took snaps, may be in 3rd or 4th visit. There was no trace of Condylomata acuminata seen over the affected part on his next visit made on 18.10.1998. Patient was however getting boils on his head and face intermittently and mild itching on glans penis, may be due to the high potency of Sulphur.
The patient meanwhile found HIV-I and II negative by a private lab (Plus Point Pathology Lab) Chandigarh. He thought himself cured fully since there were no other symptoms of any kind. The parents started searching girl for Mr. P. in their relation and found a suitable match for him. Since Mr. P. was a known stigmated case of HIV (AIDS) in his area, the father of the girl asked to bring HIV reports from Govt Hospital. The patient underwent HIV test at Chandigarh Medical College & Hospital Sector 32, where he was told that he was still HIV positive case. It was another setback to the patient. After some time, condylomatous growth reappeared over the glans and prepuce, but this time it was sparse as compared to earlier one.
As the patient continued the treatment, after some time condylomatous growth faded away completely but he still remained HIV-I and II positive. This was a big puzzle for me. The patient meanwhile became erratic in his visits and a drug addict. At times he started behaving emotionally and with red eyes having black goggles on.
He once came along with his so called “cousin” sister, who actually turned to be his sister-in-law and a teacher by profession. She made Mr. P. to leave drugs (Opium). On examination: there were few small warts on prepuce and glans as well right & left flanks of Abdomen. Above noted medicines in very high potency (CM) were repeated but there was no letdown in those tiny growth as well as the HIV status of the patient.
The case was further studied and Psorinum was selected as chronic of Sulphur in high potency; 50M with placebo given for two months. Meanwhile the patient was bitten by Honey bees and he had to take allopathic treatment; Dioxma and some tablets. During this period a telephonic call came from the side of the patient informing me that the patient was talking and behaving abnormally. I advised the caller to consult some Psychiatrist in this respect. Mr. P. was taken to Jaipur, where he was treated by Allopathic drugs. Now he is talking and behaving normally after the administration of Anti psychiatric drugs, but he meanwhile developed urinary tract infection (UTI), the patient along with his father made a visit on 21.5.2008. Keeping in view medicamentum abuse, Mr. P. was prescribed Pulsatilla in various potencies along with Nitric acid & Natrum mur for a period of nearly 6 months. In between the patient got Fever and took allopathic treatment. He now made visit on 04.04.2009 and showed HIV test report (Malhotra Pathology Lab Chandigarh) and was found negative for HIV-I. There was no mention about HIV-II. Although patient’s eyes were still seen red, which would also become red after taking bath. A few tiny pin headed warts were still visible on the right flank of the Abdomen. Psorinum CM was given along with Placebo for three months. Thereafter the patient did not report even on phone until he made a personal visit along with his wife, father and cousin brother on 13.04.2013 at Rudrapur (U.S. Nagar) Uttrakhand.
